Dr. Paul E. Fisher is the owner and founder of Dr. Fisher & Associates Eye Care in St. Petersburg, Florida. He has dedicated his life to the care of others and to his eye care practice. He operates his eye care practice with his wife Amy and has been a local resident of the St. Petersburg area since he was a child. 

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Fisher grew up in St. Petersburg and went to high school at Dixie Hollins High School. Dr. Fisher worked in the corporate world for 10 years before deciding to go back to school to become an eye doctor.

Dr. Fisher earned a B.S degree in Nutrition from Life College in Marietta Georgia where he graduated as valedictorian, and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry in Davie, Florida.

While attending Nova, he was a member of VOSH (Volunteers for Optometric Services to Humanity). As a member of VOSH, Dr. Fisher traveled to Aquas Caliente, Cusco and Lima, Peru as well as Petan, Guatemala and Esteli, Nicaragua to give over 6,000 patients eye care and corrective lenses in coordination with the Club de Liones. He remembers those trips fondly and will tell you that those are the days that solidified the heart and soul of Optometry inside him.

After graduation, Dr. Fisher was accepted into an optometric residency program. He completed a residency in Ocular Disease at Aran Eye Associates in Miami. While there he gained further training and experience working with the large multi-disciplinary ophthalmology practice.

Since graduating from Optometry school, Dr. Fisher has examined tens of thousands of eyes in primary care and surgical practices. He has worked in one of the busiest Lasik facilities in Tampa, and several other busy Lee, Broward, Dade, Hillsborough and Pinellas county surgical Ophthalmology practices. Dr. Fisher’s private practice Optometry eye care clinic has an excellent reputation for exceeding patient expectations. He has been in the Tyrone area for the last 11 years, providing routine eye exams, contact lens fittings and minor ocular emergency care. Dr. Fisher treats a wide spectrum of ocular disorders. Dr. Fisher loves people and he is his most happy doctoring. This is why most days you will find Dr. Fisher working inside his practice. He absolutely loves Optometry and he loves his patients.

Dr. Fisher and his wife Amy currently reside in the area with their three amazing sons. When Dr. Fisher is not at Dr. Fisher & Associates, you will find him at the beach, boating along the intracoastal waterways in St. Petersburg, mountain biking, hiking, tinkering with cars and attending car shows (especially muscle cars).

He is a member of the Florida Optometric Association (FOA), the American Optometric Association (AOA), and Pinellas Optometric Association. Dr. Fisher is passionate about ocular health and stays up to date on all the latest continuing education in Ocular Disease and Ocular Health.
